FIRE STATUS

GOOD NEWS: The fire is "on its last leg!"

The Temporary Flight Restriction has been lifted over the Rombo Mountain Fire.

No further line construction is being done at this time for suppression; water is being used exclusively. All structure protection equipment has been removed.

Expect a quiet fire day today.

Weather is predicted to be drier through the weekend; fire activity should remain low.

The Team understands that hunters would like to access the Rombo Mountain area but it is unsafe at this time. Heavy equipment operations and suppression repair activities currently limit hunting opportunities. Closure areas will be reassessed in the next few days but for now, please adhere to the information below.

CLOSURES

Forest Supervisor David T. Bull has altered the southern closure boundary; it is now approximately Overwhich Creek, east to Straight Creek, to the southern side of Trail 606. Lookout Mountain and the roads in the Hughes Creek area are now open; Road 5734 to the Saddle Mountain area is now open. For details about the closure change, please call 821-3269.
