5 miles south of Conner, 2 miles east of Painted Rocks Lake
Start Date: July 31, 2007
Cause: Lightning
Containment: 15%
Approx. Size: 25,796 acres
Total Personnel: 269
Crews: 4
Dozers: 3
Engines: 21
Helicopters: 8

FIRE STATUS:
The majority of the Rombo Mountain firefighting resources focused on the Shook Mountain area today. Four helicopters and three single engine air tankers delivered fire retardant and water drops to slow the fire's advance to the north. A column of smoke could be seen from north flank in the afternoon. Crews continued to hold the established fire line and watched for spot fires.
The fire burned actively in the Capri Lake area, and is well established on the ridge to the south of Capri Lake.
Gusty winds, low humidity, and temperatures in the 90s prompted a Red Flag Warning this afternoon and evening.
Steep terrain and poor footing complicates fire suppression on the Rombo Mountain Fire.
