YESTERDAY'S ACTIVITIES:
Most of the suppression activity was on the north and northeastern fire perimeters. Work continued extending containment lines westward along the northern perimeter. Yesterday on the southern edge of the fire near Placid Lake crews experienced some spot fires. Aircraft assisted ground crews in containing these spot fires.
TODAY'S PLANNED ACTIONS:
Crews along the north and northeast perimeters will continue to build new and improve existing fire lines. Today's Red Flag warning will make this difficult.
WEATHER
A Red Flag warning has been issued by the National Weather Service today from noon to 9:00 pm. This is due to expected low humidity (6-22%), high temperatures, and winds of 15-20 mph possibly reaching gusts of 30 mph today.
