FUELS: Continuous timber, dead and down lodgepole pine and recent logging slash.
WEATHER:
Temperature: Maximum 76 to 87 degrees
Humidity: Minimum 13 to 18 %.
Winds: Out of the Southwest at 15 to 20 mph.
CLOSURES: Current road closures remain in place near the fire area. Travel in the general area of the fire is discouraged. Highway 28 remains open. More specific information is available by contacting the appropriate land management agency. Temporary flight restrictions (TFR) are in place over the fire. They extend 15 nautical miles out from the center of the fire (47 47 48N; 114 49 48W) to an altitude of 9,000 feet above mean sea level (MSL).
Summary: The evacuation order was lifted at 6 p.m. yesterday for all evacuees, except for the residents from the Hubbart dam sub-division (until further notice). Crews conducting burn-out operations, especially in the southeast portion of the fire, made significant progress in straightening the fire perimeter to better secure the line. A Northern Rockies Type I overhead team, incident commander (IC) Wally Bennett, is arriving to assume management of the fire. Transition will occur at 6 a.m. Monday August 13th.
