Information Sought for The Cause of The Mile Marke
Incident: Mile Marker 124 Wildland Fire

Near Clinton, MT - Investigators are looking for more information pertaining to the cause of the Mile Marker 124 Fire, announced fire officials. The number to call is (406) 542-4241.
The Mile Marker 124 fire was ignited by multiple starts along the westbound lane of I-90, 3 miles east of Clinton, Montana. The fire was reported at approximately 3:45 pm on Saturday, July 28. Investigators have ruled out lightning and believe the cause is related to mechanical or vehicular malfunction.
"Any information may help at this point," explained Tony Liane, area manager for the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation's Southwestern Land Office. "Even simple observations, such as a vehicle parked alongside the road, may contribute towards the investigation of this fire."
In addition to the Mile Marker 124 Fire, officials also welcome information pertaining to the Golf Course Fire, which started at approximately 6:30 pm Saturday, July 28. The Golf Course Fire is located near Deer Creek road, 1 mile west of Bonner, Montana.
