Fire Update Sept. 19
Incident: Ahorn Wildland Fire

Yesterday's Activities: Cooler weather and scattered showers decreased fire activity. Crews completed building line above Kenck Cabin and began removing equipment from the area. Work was also finished in Hoadley Creek. Pumps, hoses and sprinklers were removed from the Stoner Place. Fire managers flew the fire perimeter to review additional suppression needs.
Weather and Fire Behavior forecast: Partly cloudy skies with a chance of showers are expected. Temperatures will be in the 50's and humidity will remain near 40%. With the cooler temperature and moisture, fire activity is expected to be low.
Today's Planned Actions: The complex nature of necessary suppression activities is decreasing. Crews will patrol the area and conduct suppression activities as needed.
Restrictions: The Lewis and Clark National Forest, the Bureau of Land Management, and Region 4 of Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks have opened a number of areas previously closed due to the Ahorn, Fool Creek, and Skyland Fires. Effective 9/17/07, the Beaver Willow Road, #233 was opened for public travel. Note: The area west of the road is still closed.
Special Driving Safety Warning: Firefighters are experiencing excessive speeds by some motorists on the open access roads near the fire. Travelers using these forest roads should drive with extreme caution as emergency vehicles are still using these roads.
Stage I Fire Restrictions are in effect within the Bob Marshall Wilderness and on lands outside the Wilderness on the Rocky Mountain Ranger District, State Wildlife Management Areas and on Bureau Land Management Lands adjacent to the Rocky Mountain Front.
