Incident: Elk Complex Wildland Fire

The Elk Complex in the Klamath National Forest is currently composed of 22 fires. Fire suppression efforts continue on four of the larger fires, Tom Martin, King Creek II, Elk Creek and Little Grider. Northern California Team #1 (Swartzlander) assumed command of the complex at 1800 hours on July 12.

Tom Martin Fire (approx. 50 acres)
Little Grider Fire (approx. 10 acres)
King Creek II Fire (approx. 40 acres)
Elk Fire (approx. 100 acres)
Total Complex Acreage: 250 acres
Total Complex Containment: 5% Expected Full Containment: 7/22/2007
Cost to Date: $250,000 Injuries to Date: 1
Structures Threatened: 100
Committed Resources: 272 personnel
The other 19 fires are small and will continued to be monitored and patrolled and will be staffed as resources allow.
