Fool Creek Puts Up Large Column of Smoke Tuesday A
Incident: Fool Creek Wildland Fire Used for Resource Benefit
Released: 8/14/2007
Choteau, Mont., Aug. 14, 2007, 2:15 p.m.-A large column of smoke was seen from the Fool Creek fire Tuesday afternoon. The fire was making a run up a ridge about a mile east of Mt. Wright, northeast toward the confluence of the East Fork and North Fork of the Teton River.
Ahead of the fire in this direction is an old clearcut and the 2006 Nanny fire.
Fire officials expect the fire to run to the top of the ridge and then lose energy as it burns downhill on the other side.
Ahead of the fire to the northeast of this area is broken, rocky terrain.
