Archery Season Impacted by Zaca Fire Closure
GOLETA, CA...With archery season opening this weekend in the Santa Barbara County portion of Los Padres National Forest, bow hunters are reminded that a large area of national forest land surrounding the Zaca Fire is closed to public entry until further notice. The 382,000-acre closure encompasses the entire San Rafael Wilderness and adjacent national forest land from Highway 166 on the north, to Buckhorn Road on the south, to the forest boundaries on the east and west. The Sierra Madre Ridge area is within the closure. The closure prohibits all public entry to national forest lands, trails, roads and recreation sites.
Additional information regarding the fire closure, including a detailed description and map, is available at Forest Service offices and at http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/lospadres and http://www.inciweb.org/.
