FIRE ACTIVITY SUMMARY: The Central Oregon Incident Management Team (COIMT) assumed command of the 1,000 acre Kitson Fire as of 8:00pm last night. The team will focus on building and improving dozer and hand line along the fire perimeter today. Helicopters will continue to assist the ground crews and engines with hotspots throughout day shift today. No Structures are threatened and no injuries reported.
Due to increased fire traffic Forest Road 5875 is closed to all non-fire personnel.

EXPECTED DATE OF CONTAINMENT: Wednesday, October 1, 2008.
WEATHER: An upper level trough of low pressure over the forecast area will move northeast and weak high pressure building over the area tonight.
