Price Fire Arson Suspect Arrested

MIDLAND, Texas -- A 16-year-old Midland County juvenile has been arrested for arson and possession of stolen property by law enforcement officers from Texas Forest Service, U.S. Forest Service, Midland County Sheriff's Office and the Midland County Fire Marshal's Office.
The 2,500-acre Price Fire, which destroyed seven structures including three homes, was started on May 1, 2008, in eastern Midland County and spread into Martin County. Texas Forest Service and volunteer firefighters from a number of surrounding departments spent several days on fire suppression efforts on the fire.
Extensive investigation led law enforcement officers to the arson charge, as well as a number of other unrelated criminal charges. Officers are continuing their fire investigation, which may lead to additional arrests.
Texas Forest Service is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the person or persons responsible for the Price Fire.
