Grass Valley site visit scheduled for Tuesday
Residents and property owners of Grass Valley will be given an opportunity to view their homes and properties and salvage belongings during an organized site visit on Tuesday, October 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The mandatory evacuation order for this area will remain in effect during the visit. Those attending the site visit will have to leave the area following the visit.
Those interested in viewing their lots must check in at Mary Putnam Henck Intermediate School at 730 Rhine Road, Lake Arrowhead, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and attend a short briefing, where they will be given a pass necessary for participation in the visit. Firefighters and law enforcement will be present, as well as counselors from the county Department of Behavioral Health, county Department of Public Health professionals, health care personnel, and representatives from the American Red Cross and the FEMA Community Services Division.
People attending the site visit are advised to bring canvas gloves, sturdy footwear, eye protection, and to wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts. The county Department of Public Health will provide plastic bags for salvaged belongings, rubber gloves, and facemasks.

Information on assistance is also available by calling 211 within the county and 1 (888) 435-7565 from outside the county, and by visiting the Fire Emergency Local Assistance Center (FELAC) at the Dome building at the National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino.
