Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(b), and to promote public safety and to protect natural resources, the following acts are prohibited within the Klamath National Forest. This Order is effective from 1200 hours on August 19, 2008, until the Slinkard fire is fully suppressed.

Being on Forest Road No. 46N64 from its intersection with the private land boundary in SW1/4 Section 18, Township 46 N., Range 11 W., Mount Diablo Meridian (MDM), to its termination in NE1/4 Section 2, Township 45 N., Range 12 W., MDM, as shown on Exhibit A.

36 CFR 261.54(e)

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order.

  1. Persons with a permit from the Forest Service specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
  2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in performance of an official duty.
  3. Owners or lessees of private land in the area affected by the Slinkard Complex fire are exempt from the prohibitions listed above to the extent necessary to gain access to their land.
  4. Persons who reside on private land in the area affected by the Slinkard fire are exempt from the prohibitions listed above to the extent necessary to gain access to their residences.
  5. Contractors performing work for the Forest Service in the area affected by the Slinkard fire are exempt from the prohibitions listed above to the extent necessary to gain access to their worksites.

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.
