A column is visible on the Emigrant Fire burning south of North Fork of Sixmile Creek. Around mid-afternoon, the fire started backing down a slope into a pocket of heavy fuels. Currently the fire is making an uphill run in the southern portion of the North Fork of Sixmile Creek drainage.
Thunderstorms continue to develop over the fire areas with strong, gusty and erratic outflow winds.
A public meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2013 at the Paradise Valley Fire Hall and will include updates on the Emigrant Fire, Sheep Fire, North Eightmile and Horsetail fires in the Miner Paradise Complex and progress that firefighters have been able to make on the complex.
