Incident: Corral Complex Wildfire
Incident: The Corral Complex was started by lightning on August 10 2013 and is burning within the 1999 Megram Fire and the 2009 Backbone Fire areas.
Location: Trinity Alps Wilderness
Agency Jurisdiction: Unified Command-USDA Forest Service and the Hoopa Valley Tribe.

Current Situation: Only minimal smoke activity was detected during today’s reconnaissance flight. Smoke was primarily coming from dead and down logs burning within the interior of the fire and posed no threat to the line. Crews and aircraft continue to hold and improve the line.
Rehab is in full swing for contingency and dozer lines. Long Ridge Road on the Hoopa Reservation along with Forest Roads 7N26 7N53 and 7N30 are all undergoing rehab with water bars to help with erosion and sediment control. Other rehab efforts are also being implemented throughout the complex.
Smoke from the Butler Fire (10 miles north) continues to be seen and smelled in the Hoopa Valley. Smoke could settle into the valley during the night and remain trapped by a temperature inversion. North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District Wildfire Smoke Public Service Announcement is posted at incident information boards located in various locations throughout the communities or information can be accessed through their website at www.ncuaqmd.org.
Fire managers continue to downsize operations releasing resources as appropriate. Starting Sunday September 8 2013 the incident will only release one update per day.
Road Closures: Six Rivers National Forest issued an emergency fire road closure on August 30 2013 (Order No. 10-13-06) for all or part of the following: Forest roads 8N03 6N03 8N01. Road closures on the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation include Big Hill Road Tish Tang Road Mill Creek Gap and Four Corners due to fire personnel traffic and fire suppression activities.
Area & Trail Closures: For public safety and to ensure safe access for firefighters and equipment public access is restricted in the fire area. Shasta-Trinity National Forest issued a Forest Order to close the Corral Complex Area and all trails and roads within the area on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest effective September 5 2013.
