Incident: Corral Complex Wildfire

Incident: The Corral Complex was started by lightning on August 10, 2013 and is burning within the 1999 Megram Fire and the 2009 Backbone Fire areas.
Location: Trinity Alps Wilderness
Agency Jurisdiction: Unified Command-USDA Forest Service and Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation.
Cooperating Agencies: Hoopa Tribe, Willow Creek VFD, Hawkins Bar/Denny VFD, Humboldt Co. Sheriff’s Office, Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, Humboldt County DPW, Humboldt County OES, Trinity County OES

Current Situation: The fire may be more active today due to predicted higher winds especially in the southern portion of the fire. A front is expected to pass by the area over the next few days bringing slightly lower temperatures and higher relative humidity. Fire officials will continue to evaluate opportunities to conduct firing operations in order to reinforce line construction and implement them when conditions are most favorable for success. Firefighter and public safety continue to be the number one priority on this incident. Log rollout, both standing and downed large snags, and narrow, winding mountain roads are some ongoing safety challenges for fire personnel.
A Type 1 Incident Management Team, CA Team 3 will be shadowing the current team on Sunday and take command of the fire on Monday at 0600.
Evacuations: None currently in place. The structures at risk are outside the fire perimeter.
Road Closures: Six Rivers National Forest issued an emergency fire road closure 8/30/2013 (Order No. 10-13-16) for the following roads: Waterman Ridge Road, Big Hill Road, Tish Tang Road and Four Corners on the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation are now closed due to increased fire personnel traffic and fire suppression activities. See the full order and map on the Inciweb site. Forest Service roads 7N26, 7N53, and 7N04 surrounding the Groves Prairie Spike Camp have restricted public access due to fire crew activity.
Area & Trail Closures: For public safety and to ensure unimpeded access for firefighters and equipment, public access is restricted in the fire area.
