Summary: The crews made good progress last night constructing and reinforcing existing line on the fire. The Power Fire was reported on August 5th, 2013 at 5:38 AM. The fire is located in the Middle Fork drainage of the the Stanislaus River, 4 miles northwest of the community of Pinecrest. This is very steep and rugged terrain with critically dry vegetation, hardwood slash, brush and timber. Crews are contending with material rolling out ; loose rocks and trees falling downhill. Dozers are continuing to put in line; tying in roads along ridgetops. Hand crews will continue constructing containment lines. Firefighter and public safety are primary.
All roads, local businesses and recreation areas are OPEN.
On Tuesday 8/6/2013 at 6:00 PM the management of the Power Fire transitioned from the Stanislaus National
Forest to the Southern California Incident Management Team 2.
Road & Trail Closures / Evacuations: There are no road closures or evacuations in the fire area. However, as with any incident, the public should be prepared.
Structure Information; There are numerous residences threatened, but no other structures damaged or destroyed.
Predicted Weather: The Incident Meteorologist forecasts todays temperatures ranging in the mid 80’s. Winds will be from the southwest with speeds from 7 to13mph.
