Yesterday’s Fire Operations: Fire crews were busy retrieving approximately 82 miles of hose and over 60 water pumps that were used during fire suppression. Today’s Fire Operations: Crews will continue to retrieve firefighting equipment such as pumps and hoses. They will also be repairing roads and other areas affected by fire equipment. “We are doing our final sweep for equipment today”, stated Greg Chandler, Operations Section Chief.
Rogue River Trail from Grave Creek to the Rogue River Ranch is open.
Level 1 evacuations are in effect from north of the Rogue River and south of the Marial Byway and in the Galice area. A Level 1 Evacuation is the lowest evacuation threat level and means that current or projected threats from hazards associated with the fire are severe. It is the time for preparation and precautionary measures.
Weather: Today will be cooler as a high pressure system remains in the vicinity. Temperatures will be in the high 80’s in the valleys and in the upper 70’s on the ridges. Winds will be light and variable with afternoon gustiness. There is a slight possibility of rain in the late afternoon into the night.
