Narrative: This will be the last update on the Mill Creek Fire. Firefighters from local departments and agencies continue to mop up, and remove snags. Fire line is in place around the perimeter of the fire. Objectives for the next couple of days include: firefighter and public safety; maintain and mop up the area around the fire perimeter, and continue to monitor the fire suppress any hot spots using safe and effective actions.

Resources on Fire: Fire engines from DNRC, Frenchtown, and private contractors; Deer Lodge Inmate Crew.
Special Concerns: SAFETY of firefighters and the public is a primary concern.
Closures: Black Cat Gulch remains closed to public traffic. The public is still being encouraged to avoid the areas of Mill Creek,Bunchgrass Lane, and the Frenchtown Frontage Road, due to fire traffic still in the area.
Cause: Human, under investigation.
Prevention Message: It is HOT and DRY! The public is reminded to be extremely cautious with all sources of ignition: equipment, lawnmowers, chains dragging, campfires and cigarettes. Be sure campfires are never left unattended and are out completely and cool to the touch before leaving. It only takes one spark.
