AGENCY: Gallatin National Forest
PERSONNEL AND RESOURCES ON THE FIRE: 1 helicopter, 1 engine, 1 - 15 person hand crew and overhead for a total of 30 personnel.
YESTERDAY’S ACTIVITY: After scouting the north containment line on Thursday and seeing a more accurate weather forecast for the next few days, fire officials made the decision to not implement the burn operation this weekend. Minimal smoke was seen in the Gold Prize area again on Thursday.
FRIDAY’S PLANNED ACTIVITY: A recon flight over the fire will take place this morning. Fire personnel will be moving the helibase from Dailey Lake to along Conlin Road. FIRE WEATHER: Monsoonal moisture will be over the fire area Friday with relative humidities bottoming out near 30% and highs reaching the mid 70’s. Scattered showers and wet thunderstorms are possible Friday afternoon and evening, and a few may linger into Friday night. Gusty winds are possible near any storm. More showers and thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon and evening.
