New Fire Growth in Twin Creek Lakes Are - Pats Creek Is Holding
Incident: Lodgepole Wildfire
Smoke columns were visible most of the afternoon into the evening along the west side of the fire. In the evening a weather inversion pushed the smoke lower into the valley making for hazardous driving along Hwy 93 between Challis and Salmon.
The fire burned actively in the Twin Creek Lakes area but Pats Creek saw little activity. The fire has reached the old Shower Bath fire footprint to the west.
The fire has progressed into an area that is slightly more advantageous for direct action. Scouting will continue within Pats Creek, White Valley Creek and Bear Creek to develop a more direct action alternative. However, trigger points have been identified in case the fire decides to push out of the White Creek area, north and the indirect operation plan must be put into action.
