Yesterday there was a slight run to the northwest due to afternoon winds that gusted up to 31 mph. However, fire personnel were able to catch and hold it with the loss of only about 200 acres. Hand crews are continuing to construct hand line. The weather remains warm and dry with a red flag warning for the afternoon and evening. There is a slight chance of dry, afternoon thunderstorm that could impact fire behavior.
The terrain is steep and rugged and difficult to access. Hand crews and engines are being supported by numerous aerial resources. The south end of the fire is looking good and mop-up and rehab has started on the dozer lines.
