Incident: Carpenter 1 Wildfire
Residents and business owners only will be allowed back into Lee Canyon today, Monday July 15, at 8 a.m.
Residents and business owners will be allowed back into Kyle Canyon, Wednesday, July 17, at 10 a.m.
Fire managers are feeling good about the fire suppression efforts. Crews will continue doing patrol and mop-up into the black at least 300ft., while securing hot spots. Structure protection will remain for the Harris and Prospect Ranches. Helicopters will be involved in crew movement today along normal fire operations. Firefighting resources are beginning to be released due to reduced fire activity and will be re-assigned to other incidents if needed.
Hot and dry with partly cloudy skies today. Temperatures in the mid-80s are expected over the fire area.
The community of Kyle Canyon remains under evacuation. James Bilbray Elementary and Hafen Elementary are designated as Red Cross reception centers. Both are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
