Message From Yavapai County Emergency Management
Incident: Yarnell Hill Fire Wildfire
There will be some volunteers setting up a food bank at the Yarnell School across from the church from Thursday thru Sunday 8:30am to about 3:30pm.
It will be non perishable food items.
The County Flood Control department has already been in the area to look at possible flooding issues. They will be sending information out as they complete their surveys. We have already begun the discussion of purchasing sandbags and sand for the public. We have the roads department thru the county working on good locations and help for filling the sandbags. We should have locations and more information on the sandbags in the next few days.
We have learned that many residents are asking about refrigerators, ice chests, and other needs. The Salvation Army has been distributed food boxes, ice chests, and meeting with the residents impacted by the event. They are attempted to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. New numbers are in the works for the public. The non Governmental organizations are requesting monetary donations not in-kind (used clothing) monetary donations can better assist the specific needs.
Also today 7/9/13 The County Health Department is at the Yarnell Community Center providing Tetanus Shots – free. They will be here today until about 3:30pm. Depending on the need they may come back later this week.
Making sure this went through. I also wanted to mention that we do currently have sand bags at the Prescott County Public Works if there is an immediate need.
If you have any questions please let me know.
