Road and Trail Closures- East Fork Fire Area
Incident: East Fork Wildfire
Montrose, Colo., (June 21, 2013) – The Ouray Ranger District of the Uncompahgre National Forest announced today the immediate closure of several roads and trails in the vicinity of the East Fork Fire. These closures are for public and firefighter safety.
These include Silver Jack Reservoir, the Alpine Trail (FST 225) , Little Cimarron Trail (FST 229), Fall Creek Trail (FST 230 and 231), East Fork Trail (FST 228), Middle Fork Trail (FST 227), Big Park Trail (234), Wetterhorn Basin Trail (226), Little Cimarron Road (FS 864), High Mesa Road (864.A), Big Cimarron/Owl Creek Pass road (FSR 858). The Big Cimarron, Beaver Creek and Silver Jack campgrounds are also closed.
The points of closure are the forest boundary at Big Cimarron Road, Owl Creek Pass, and the junction of Little Cimarron and High Mesa Road.
This closure prohibits the public from being in the restricted area or on the roads or trails listed. The only exceptions are firefighting forces, organized rescue forces and persons authorized by special Forest Service permit.
