Location: Espanola Ranger District within the Pecos
Number of Personnel: 67 members of the team that are developing the long term suppression strategy.
Wilderness, approx. 6 miles southeast of Borrego
Equipment: No ground equipment at this time.
Aircraft: 2 Fixed Wing, 1 Helicopter.
Size: 3,546 acres (based on IR flight)

At 10:00am on Monday June 17th there will be a cooperators meeting held at the Carlos F. Vigil Middle School located at 1260 N. Industrial Road, Espanola. The purpose of the meeting is to share the results of the long term assessment that was built with cooperators input.
Command of the Jaroso Fire will transfer to the Atlanta National Incident Management Organization (NIMO) as of 6:00am on Monday morning. This NIMO team is already managing the Tres Lagunas suppression and BAER(Burned Area Emergency Response) efforts as well as the Thompson Ridge fires suppression and BAER efforts.

Today’s Planned Activities:
The Southwest Incident Management Team has completed its assessment of the fires projected long term growth and behavior. Today the outgoing Southwest team will work closely with their counterparts on the NIMO team and explain what efforts have been completed to date and what still needs to be done. The NIMO team will move forward using the information developed in the Southwest’s assessment. The NIMO will continue its interaction with the community and will have a cooperators meeting on Monday.
