Red Cedar Reduction Closure

Temporary Closure of Veterans Trail and Southeast Perimeter Rd on Feb 22

The following temporary closures will be implemented for public safety during prescribed burning in the Golf Course unit on the afternoon of February 22. This unit is approximately 50 acres, located in the Platt Historic District, along Hwy 177, across from the bison viewpoint.

Veterans Trail will be closed from the Veterans Center to Pavilion Springs beginning at approximately 3pm on Feb 22 and is projected to reopen the morning of Feb 23.

The southeast perimeter road will be closed between Hwy 177 and Sycamore Crossing beginning at approximately 3pm on Feb 22. The road will be re-opened in the evening as soon as burning is complete.

If you are traveling in the vicinity of the burn, please slow down, turn your headlights on, and watch for firefighters working along the road. The forecast for Feb 22 is for north winds, which are expected to move smoke to the south during the burn.
