Prescribed Burning to Continue in East Hunting Area Feb 17

Fire managers continued prescribed burning in the Five Lakes area, south of the Chickasaw Cultural Center, on February 16. Approximately 830 total acres have been treated to date in the Five Lakes area. Fire managers plan to continue burning in the East Hunting area, on February 17. Ignitions are anticipated to begin mid-afternoon and may continue throughout the evening. Winds on Sunday, February 17, are predicted to come from the south, which may move smoke to the north during the burn.
