Prescribed Burning to Continue in Five Lakes Area Feb 3

Fire managers treated approximately 130 acres with prescribed fire in the Five Lakes area, on February 2. Fire managers plan to continue burning in the Five Lakes area, west of Five Lakes and Cedar Blue, on February 3. Ignitions are anticipated to begin mid-afternoon and may continue until approximately 9pm. Winds on Sunday, Feb 3, are expected to come from the north or northeast initially, then shifting gradually and steadily through the rest of the morning and afternoon to eventually come from the south-southeast around mid-afternoon. Winds are predicted to reamin south-southeasterly into the evening, which may move smoke to the north-northwest during the burn.
