Incident: Karney Fire Wildfire

The Karney Fire, burning about 5.5 miles north of Hwy 21 on the Robbie Creek Road is estimated at about 80 acres. The fire movement has slowed with the night cooler temperatures and higher humidity's. The fire is 15 percent contained as of 9 PM. There is no estimate of full containment.
One structure has been confirmed lost and a second structure is believed to have been lost, but that has not been confirmed.
Fire fighters will work into the evening and the rural fire departments will provide structure protection throughout the night.
About 12 structures are considered immediately threatened and there are approximately 20 structures in this area of Robbie Creek.
Over 100 firefighters are involved with the mutual aid response fire, which lies within Idaho Department of Lands Fire protection boundaries. The fire is entirely on private land. USFS, BLM, IDL and rural fire departments are involved
Two additional fire crews have been ordered but there is not an estimated time of arrival for them.
Resources who fought the fire today included 2 heavy air tankers, 2 Single Engine Air Tankers, 6 engines, 1 dozer, and three hand crews. Those same resources will be involved with the fire tomorrow.
A BLM Fire investigator has been sent to the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
