Overnight fire crews continued progress in constructing and improving containment lines. Today crews will start mopping up hot spots on cooler flanks of the fire. Crews will also patrol the fire perimeter to ensure the fire remains within its current containment lines. The southeast area of the fire perimeter continues to hold heat but is generally backing down hill through duff with a slow rate of spread.
The forecasted weather for today over the fire is predicting some strong southeasterly winds as a weather system moves over the Pacific Northwest. Crews will monitor the winds and its influence on the fire behavior to the fire remains within its containment lines.
Public Safety: Smoke from the fire may be visible from Interstate 5 and local communities. Please use caution when driving along Interstate 5 in the fire area.
