Wenatchee Complex Evacuation Update September 16, 2012 5:30p.m.

- CANYONS FIRE

Evacuation Levels are being reduced for many residents of Number One and Number Two Canyons due to the successful completion of burnout operations that reduced the risk of wildfire in the area.

Effective at 6:00 PM, Evacuation Levels for Number One Canyon Road will be reduced from Level 3 to Level 2. Evacuation Levels for Number Two Canyon Road between Castle Heights and the Gun Club will be reduced from Level 3 to Level 1. Number Two Canyon Road west of the Gun Club and Stiss Canyon

Road will remain under Evacuation Level 3. The road block on Number Two Canyon Road will be located at the Gun Club, which will remain closed.

Evacuation Levels 1, 2, and 3 are akin to a "Ready, Set, Go" level of preparedness with Level 1 asking residents to be ready to evacuate if conditions change, Level 2 meaning residents should be set to go at a moment's notice, and Level 3 meaning authorities are advising residents to evacuate because their homes are in imminent danger.
