Wenatchee Complex Announcement

Evacuation Update - September 15, 2012

Incident: Wenatchee Complex Wildfire
Released: 9/14/2012

POISON CANYON FIRE:

Increased fire activity in the Mission Creek drainage has resulted in Level 2 Evacuation notices being ordered for 11 homes in Tripp Canyon. Chelan County Deputies are enroute to homes in this area to deliver these notices.

CANYONS FIRE:

There is good news for some residents who have been under Level III and II Evacuation status from the Canyons Fire. One hundred and twenty one homes in the Broadview subdivision and 37 homes in Sleepy Hollow Heights between Wenatchee and Monitor are having their evacuation status dropped to Level 1 due to diminished danger from the fires that threatened these neighborhoods earlier in the week.

Level 1, 2, and 3 Evacuation Status is akin to a "Ready, Set, Go" level of evacuation notices with Level 1 asking residents to be ready to evacuate if conditions change, Level 2 means residents should be set to go at a moment's notice, Level 3 means authorities are advising residents to evacuate because their homes are in imminent danger.

NEW PUBLIC INFORMATION NUMBER:

A new phone number for public and media to contact for information regarding the Wenatchee Complex fires is 509-662-4438. Joint Fire Information Center phone numbers are 509-664-9374 and 509-664-9353.
