Effective at 1600 hours on September 26, the Deschutes County Sheriff removed the Level 2 Pre-evacuation order for Crossroads Subdivision, Edgington, Remuda Road and the surrounding areas.

Yesterday firefighters worked on mopping-up and rehabilitating fire lines. The fire size remains at 26,285 acres and is 80% contained. Full containment is expected by October 15, 2012.

Crews used aviation assets for a time on Wednesday afternoon along the northwest side of the fire to cool spots.

Residents are reminded that the fire is not out and they should monitor information sources for fire information.

ALL major routes remain open to Sisters and other central Oregon communities.

The Oregon Interagency Incident Management Team 4 will transition the management of the fire to a local Type 3 organization on Saturday at 7:00 A.M.
