The Wesley Fire is still burning in the Rapid River drainage. It will continue to slowly spread upslope and up canyon. The east and south sides of the fire are contained. The northwest quarter will be monitored by air, due to steep, remote, and hazardous topography. The current acreage is 15,289.
Fire crews continue to construct containment line on the west side of the fire moving toward Bear Saddle. Recovery crews are removing fire hose and other unneeded equipment. Resource crews are rehabilitating fire line to a more natural condition.
A Forest Type 3 Incident Management Team will assume command of the fire tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. Due to increased containment of the fire, the fire closure area has been reduced on the east and southeast side. See attached closure map and refer to inciweb.org for the latest closure order.
Saturday's weather forecast is sunny, dry, and warmer with temperatures up to 75 degrees. Winds will be 5 -10 mph.
