WESLEY FIRE AREA CLOSURE - Revision Two

PROHIBITIONS:
Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b) the following act is prohibited on all lands as described in this order, all within administrative boundaries of the Council and New Meadows Ranger Districts, Payette National Forest; Slate Creek Ranger District, Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest; and the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area and Rapid River Wild and Scenic River Corridor, Wallowa-Whitman National Forest until further notice.
·1. Going into or being upon the Fire Area (as described below). 36 CFR 261.52(e)
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e) the following persons are exempt from this order:
·1. Persons with a special use authorization or other Forest Service authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
·2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
·3. Federal or State administrative personnel in the performance of an official duty.
AREA DESCRIBED:
Wesley Fire Area (including all roads and trails within the area) is described as beginning at the junction of National Forest System (NFS) road #139 and NFS road #128 located within Township 19 North, Range 1 West, Section 8; then due East to the Forest Boundary in Township 19 North, Range 1West, Section 9; then Northerly following the Payette National Forest Boundary to the Nez Perce National Forest Boundary, located on the NE corner of Section 8, Township 22 North, Range 1 East; then Northerly along the Nez Perce National Forest Boundary to NFS Trail #113 (at the Rapid River Trailhead), then Southerly becoming Westerly along (but excluding) NFS Trail #113 to the Hells Canyon Wilderness boundary, located in Township 20 North, Range 2 West, Section 2; then Southerly along the Hells Canyon Wilderness boundary to its intersection with NFS Trail # 173, located at Township 5 South, Range 2 West, Section 15; then Southwesterly along (and including) NFS Trail #173 to the junction of NFS Trail #173 and NFS Road 112; then Southwesterly along (and including) NFS Road #112 to the junction of NFS Roads #112, #145, and #105, located in Township 5 South, Range 49 East, Section 1; then Southeasterly along (and including) NFS road #105 its junction with NFS Road #110; then Easterly along (and including) NFS road #110 to its junction with NFS Road #130, located in Township 20 North, Range 2 West, Section 18; then Southerly becoming Northeast along (and including) NFS Road #130 to Bessie Gulch; then Southeasterly along Bessie Gulch to the center of Section 16, Township 20 North, Range 2 West; then due South to Butterfield Gulch, located in Township 20 North, Range 2 West, Section 28; then Easterly along Butterfield Gulch to the Southern line of Section 26, Township 20 North, Range 2 West; then due East to NFS Road #139, located on the Southern line of Section 25, Township 20 North, Range 2 West; then southeasterly along (and including) NFS Road #139 to the point of beginning
The above area (including all roads and trails within the area) are located within the Council and New Meadows Ranger Districts, Payette National Forest, Hells Canyon National Recreation Area and Rapid River Wild and Scenic River Corridor, Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, and the Slate Creek Ranger District, Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, Adams and Idaho Counties, Idaho, Boise Meridian.
PURPOSE:
The area (including all trails and roads within the area) as described above has ongoing wildfire activity within its perimeter (Wesley Fire Incident). The area is closed for public safety and protection from hazards associated with wildfire.
IMPLEMENTATION:
1. This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until further
notice.
2. A map identifying the closure area is attached and made part of this Order.
3. Any violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than
$5,000.00 for an individual, or $10,000.00 for an organization, and/or
imprisonment for not more than six (6) months. [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18
USC 3571(b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581 (b)(7)].
