Fire Reaches Ridge South of Cache Creek

This afternoon the Little Horse Thief fire made a large runto the northeast, reaching the ridge, just south of Cache Creek. Currently the north flank of the fire isapproximately 1 � miles to the southeast of Snow King, with the main directionof spread to the northeast. Fire officials continue to update the fire's relationship to Snow King, Cache Creekand other areas. The fire is currently entering the Cache Creek drainage, from the south, approximately 2 � miles from theCache Creek trailhead. Air resources are actively dropping retardant to slow the fire's progression. Due to the rapid growth seen on the firetoday, and the fire weather forecast for Monday, residents in the Snow King mountainshould be prepared to implement an evacuation plan if necessary.
