Trails Re-Opened to Caribou Lakes

Patricia Grantham, Forest Supervisor for the Klamath National Forest, announced the reopening of two trails that had been closed because of the Caribou Fire . The fire, discovered September 3, 2012, is near Snowslide Lake in a portion of the Trinity Alps Wilderness managed by the Klamath National Forest. The 40 acre fire is 90% contained and no longer poses a threat to safety of trail users. The closed portions of Caribou Lake Trail (Forest Trail 5455) and Old Caribou Lake Trail (Forest Trail 5467) will be re-opened to public use as of 8:00AM, September 13, 2012.
