Options for Evacuating Animals
Incident: Stafford Wildfire
Released: 9/8/2012
Evacuated residents can bring their large animals (livestock) to the Trinity County Fairgrounds. Owners must bring feed and containers for food and water. The Fair will provide water, containment and shelter. Contact Ken Graves at 530-524-1167 to arrange shelter.
Owners of small animals have two options. The first is to bring them to the Weaverville Animal Shelter. Owners must call the Sheriff's dispatch at 530 623 8126 before bringing them to the shelter. The second option is to bring them to the Red Cross evacuation shelter at the Solid Rock church. Animals must be sheltered, contained, crated, leashed or otherwise under control outside the building.
