Hall's Northern Rockies Fire Management Team assumed command of the fire yesterday afternoon at 6:00 p.m.. The Incident Command Post will remain at the same location with a few changes to the camp infrastructure. The information phone line will be available later today. Fire Activity: Smoldering and creeping with isolated torching was observed yesterday on the west side within the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness.
Management Actions: Resources throughout the fire area will continue to mop-up, patrol, and monitor completed fire lines. The west side of the fire will continue to be monitored. Crews on the east side of the fire will continue to patrol and take action on any hotspots found. Infra-red technology will be utilized today to assist firefighters in detecting hotspots in critical areas.
Evacuations and Closures: Sawtooth Creek Trail #123, Roaring Lion Trail #124, Ward Mountain Trail #208, and Canyon Creek Trail #525 are closed due to fire activity.
