Pine Creek Fire Afternoon Update

Even with the winds over the fire area, fire activity on the Pine Creek Fire has been minimal today due to the rain that fell yesterday and over night. Ash was seen blowing around in the burned areas due to the strong winds. Smoke coming from the fire was considerably less than what was seen the last few days. Helicopters helped firefighters on the ground with some bucket drops on hot spots.
A line of thunderstorms south of Bozeman are predicted to be entering the fire area soon. These thunderstorms have been producing very strong winds and lightning.
