Location: Pine Creek on the east side of Paradise Valley
Current Size: greater than 5000 acres
Current Status: The Pine Creek Fire was called into Livingston Dispatch about 2 pm in the afternoon on August 29th. The cause of the fire is unknown. The fire has affected the town of Pine Creek, Pine Creek Campground, Luccock Park Church Camp, Pine Creek KOA, Pool Creek, and Deep Creek. Structures have burned; the extent of the damage is currently being assessed. The Pine Creek Caf�, school and church were not burned in the fire. There have been a few minor injuries to the public and firefighters, but no firefighters have been killed.
The evacuation area includes residences east of East River Road from Suce Creek Road south to Pine Creek Campground Road. The evacuation center is located at the Livingston Civic Center.
Closures: East River Road is closed from the junction with Highway 89 South to Mill Creek Road.
The Pine Creek Road is also closed.
Gallatin National Forest officials have issued a closure order for National Forest System lands in the area from the West Boulder River west to the forest boundary in Paradise Valley, and from the forest boundary south of Livingston to George Lake and east to the Tumble Creek drainage which is a tributary of the West Boulder River.
Pouncin's Northern Rocky Type I fire team will be transitioning with Park County Initial Attack resources over the next few days.
