Dixie Road Open to Dixie & Comstock Residents on September 30, 2012
Incident: Mcguire Complex Wildfire
Dixie and Comstock Residents Only
1. Idaho County Sheriff's Department, the Nez Perce National Forest, and Poncin's Northern Rockies Incident Management Team will open the Dixie Road 222 only for the residents of Dixie and Comstock, starting at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012. Success of this access plan depends on the cooperation of the residents.
2. Safety of the public and firefighters are our primary concern. Saw crews will be working to clear snags along Dixie Road 222. However, snags are a significant concern. Please drive slowly and obey all the posted restrictions.
3. On the Dixie Road 222, residents will be checked at the Junction of Trapper Creek (1190) on the North, and the intersection of Burpee Rd (1188) on the South to ensure their safe travel through the Dixie Road 222. This plan is designed to give residents access to only their property and not access for hunting and recreational use. The area closure is still in effect.
4. Every effort is being made to ensure continued access for the residents of Dixie and Comstock. If safe access cannot be maintained, it will be necessary to revert to the pilot car controlled access.
Thank you for your cooperation.
