Area Restrictions
Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests
ORDER
Pursuant to Title 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 261.50(a) the following acts are prohibited on portions of the Red River Ranger District, as described in this order and shown on the attached map, within the Nez Perce Clearwater National Forests. These restrictions are in addition to those general prohibitions in Title 36 CFR, Part 261, Sub-part A, become effective immediately and shall remain in effect until rescinded.
1. Going into or being on National Forest System lands, roads or trails within the defined area below, which are closed for the Public Health and Safety. 36 CFR 261.53(e)
LOCATION
The McGuire Complex Fire area closure is described as follows:
Follow Forest Rd #222 from its junction with Forest Rd # 1803( T29N, R8E, center Sec. 33) northerly, easterly and then in a southern direction to its junction with Forest Road #1190 (T27N, R9E SE1/4 Sec 16) then follow Forest Road #1190 in a southern direction to its junction with Forest Road #421 (T27N, R9E NE1/4 Sec 28), then follow Forest Road #421 southerly to its junction with Trail #96 at the Salmon River (T25N, R 9E SW1/4 Sec 1) then follow Forest Trail #96 in a south western direction to its junction with the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Boundary ( T25N, R9E NM1/4 Sec 12), then follow the wilderness boundary in a northern direction then in a southwest direction to its junction with Forest Trail # 212 (T25N, R8E NE1/4 Sec26) then follow forest Trail # 212 in a northwest direction to its junction with Forest Trail # 211 (T25N, R8E SE1/4 Sec 9) then follow forest Trail # 211 in a northwest then west direction to its junction with Forest Road # 222 (T25N, R8E NE1/4 Sec7) with Forest Trail #210 (T25N, R9E SW1/4 Sec 1) then follow Forest Trail #210 in a westerly direction to its junction with Forest Road #222 (T25N, R8E NW1/4 Sec 8 ) then follow Forest Road #222 in a northern direction to its junction with Forest Road #311 (T25N, R8E, SW1/4 Sec. 31), then follow Forest Road #311 in a southern direction to its junction with Forest Road #311A (T25N, R8E NE1/4 Sec. 7), then follow Forest Road #311A in a southern direction to its junction with Forest Trail #215 (T25N, R8E NW1/4 Sec. 18) Then follow Forest Trail #215 westerly then northerly to its junction with Forest Trail #204 (T25N,R7E NE1/4 Sec.15) then follow Forest Trail #204 to its junction with Forest Trail #230 (T26N, R7E SE1/4 Sec. 17), then follow Forest Trail #230 in a westerly direction to its junction with the Gospel Hump Wilderness Boundary (T26N, R6E SE1/4 Sec25) then follow the wilderness boundary around the Hump Corridor northerly to the Gospel Hump Wilderness boundary with Forest Trail #802 ( T28N, R7E NE1/4 Sec 32), then follow Forest Trail #802 in a northeasterly direction to it junction with Forest Road #478 ( T28N, R 7E NW1/4 Sec.27). Then follow Forest Road #478 in a northern direction to its junction with Forest Road #478B (T28N, R 7E SW1/4 Sec.22). Then follow an unnamed ridge to the east staying north of Baker Gulch across Crooked River to the junction of Forest Road #233 and Forest Road #522 (T28N, R8E, SW1/4 Sec 19) then follow Forest Road #522 in a north eastern direction to its junction with Forest Road #1803 (T28N, R8E SW1/4 Sec 4) then follow Forest Road #1803 to it junction with Forest Road # 222 the point of origin.
The Crooked River Road # 233 has been closed at the junction of Highway 14 (Sec25, T29N, R7E) by order of the Idaho County Sheriff's Department.
The Dixie Road # 222 has been closed at the junction of Road #222 and the Trapper Creek Road # 1190 to the south side of the town of Dixie, by order of the Idaho County Sheriff's Department.
EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt:
1. Persons with specific written authorization for the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
2. Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty. Federal or State administrative personnel in the performance of an official duty.
3. Forest Road # 222 will remain open from its junction with the south side of the town of Dixie to its junction with Forest Trail # 211.
4. Forest Roads 222D and 9545 will remain open.
5. Forest Trail # 211 from its junction with Forest Road # 222 to its junction with Forest Trail #212 will remain open
6. Forest Trail # 212 from its junction with Forest Trail # 211 to its junction with the Frank Church Wilderness Boundary
7. Owners or leaser of land in the area with exceptions.
8. Residents in the area with exceptions.

RATIONALE: These restrictions are promulgated to provide for public safety due to fire activity and falling tree hazard in the McGuire Complex Fire Area.
PENALTY: Violation of this order is prohibited by provisions of the regulations cited, and under USC 551 and 18 USC 3559 and 3571. Any violation is subject to punishment by a fine of not more than $5,000 for and individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.
NOTIFICATION: A copy of this order shall be posted in the Forest Supervisor's Office and each District Ranger's office and other appropriate locations as prescribed under Title 36 CFR 261.51.
