Incident: The fire complex consists of the McGuire, Bagely and Herman wildland fires, which were all started by lightning on 8/27.

Location: 2 miles west of Dixie, ID.

Agency Jurisdiction: USDA Forest Service, Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests

Cooperating Agencies: Idaho County Sheriff's Department

Incident Commander: Carlton Joseph, California Interagency Incident Management Team 5. The Incident Command Post (ICP) is located at the old Red River Ranger Station, with fire camp located in the York field at Red River.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, September 14, 2012; 4:00pm

STAGE 3 EVACUATION REQUEST ISSUED FOR MALLARD/COOK RANCH AREAS. TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROAD 222, AND EMERGENCY CLOSURE OF ROADS 1190 AND 421.

Due to current fire activity on the McGuire Fire Complex, a Stage 3 Evacuation for the Mallard/Cook Ranches has been issued by the Sherriff's Department and residents are asked to evacuate immediately. As the fire is moving north and northeast in the area south of Moose Butte Creek, a temporary closure of County Road 222 from Trapper Creek to the community of Dixie is now in effect. Additionally, an Emergency Closure is in place for Forest Road 1190 and Road 421 at Trapper Creek.

Local residents and public concerned about the McGuire Fire Complex are encouraged to call the public information line listed above.
