Incident: The fire complex consists of the McGuire, Bagely and Herman wildland fires, which were all started by lightning on 8/27.

Location: Five miles west of Dixie, ID.

Agency Jurisdiction: USDA Forest Service, Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests

Cooperating Agencies: Idaho County Sheriff's Department

Incident Commander: Shawn Pearson, Northern Rockies Type II Incident Management Team (IMT). The Incident Command Post (ICP) is located at the old Red River Ranger Station, with fire camp located in the York field at Red River.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STAGE 3 EVACUATION REQUEST ISSUED FOR DIXIE/COMSTOCK AREA

Due to recent fire activity on the McGuire Fire Complex, the Incident Management Team requested the Idaho County Sheriff's Office to issue a Stage 3 Evacuation Request for the Dixie/Comstock area effective immediately. A Sheriff's Deputy will be informing local residents of the Evacuation Request. The request indicates the occupants are asked to evacuate immediately. Fire in the McGuire Complex moved east today, from Burpee Mountain to Road 1188 . The Sheriff's Office has also closed County Road 222 to Dixie at its junction with Road 1190 at Trapper Creek. Local residents and public concerned about the McGuire Fire Complex are encouraged to call the public information line listed above.
