Detected: August 28, 2012,

Cause: Lighting

Location: West of Whitehall and east of Butte, north of Hwy 2 and south of I-90

Jurisdiction: Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest and Jefferson County

Size: 3789

Containment: 100%

Resources: Two type 6 engines with crew

Planned Actions: The fire will be taken over by a Type 4 team led by Incident Commander (IC) Otto on Thursday, September 13, with IC Type 4 trainee Behrens from the Jefferson Ranger District in Whitehall. Beginning on Saturday, September 15th the fire will be under a Type 4 team led by IC Schenk from the Jefferson Ranger Distict. The crew will continue to mop up within the perimeter of the fire and respond as needed to active fire and smokes.

Officials are also reminding the public Stage I restrictions are in effect for all of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge NF with the exception of the Anaconda-Pintler and the Lee Metcalf Wilderness Areas. For more information about restrictions go to http://firerestrictions.us/.
