PARISH CABIN FIRE CLOSURE ORDER

MALHEUR NATIONAL FOREST

Pursuant to 36 CFR, Sec. 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited in the area and National Forest System roads described in this order within the Malheur National Forest, from August 30, 2012 and will be effect until rescinded

·1) It is prohibited for any person to be in the area described in Appendix A and the

36CFR 261.53 (e)

·2) It is prohibited to operate a motor vehicle on any forest service road within the boundary described in Appendix A

36 CFR 261.54 (a)

Pursuant to 36 CFR, Sec. 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

1) Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.

2) Any Federal, State or local law enforcement officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

3) An employee of the Forest Service when performing their official duties

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261,

Subpart A.

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. (16 U.S.C. 551 and 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571)

APPENDIX A - AREA CLOSURE

Area Description:

The area described is closed except for Forest Road (FR) 15 and Forest Road 16 which traverse the area.

Starting at the Junction of FR 15 and FR 1500-476 go due north to fence line on northern edge of Section 7, T16S, R33E. Travel east on fence line to its intersection with FR 1530-683. Go due north on ridgeline to Crazy Creek. Follow Crazy Creek east (upstream) to FR 1580-747 and FR 1530 junction. Travel north on 1530 to its intersection with the east section line of Section 33, T15S, R33E. From there traverse the ridgeline north east to the wilderness boundary in Section 26, T15S, R33E. Follow the wilderness boundary to the east to its intersection with Bear Creek. Follow south along Bear Creek to its intersection with FR 1640 in the northeast corner of Section 13, T16S, R34E. Travel south on FR to the junction with FR16. Travel west on FR 16 to the junction with 1600-032. Travel south on FR 1600-032 on a line to FR 1500-502. Travel south on 1500-502 to the junction with FR 15. Travel northeast on FR 15 to the junction with FR 1500-202. From the FR 15/ FR 1500-202 junction follow a line due west to FR 1600-450. Travel west on FR 1500-450 to the junction with FR 1600-468. Travel south on FR 1600-468 to FR 1600-467. Travel southeast on FR 1600-467 to the junction with FR 1600-470. Travel southwest on 1600-470 to its intersection with section line between Section 21 and 28, T16S, R33E. Go west on the section line to FR 1600-502. Travel north on FR 1600-502 to the junction with FR 16. Travel north on FR 1600-126 the junction with FR 1500-462. Travel north on FR 1500-462 to the Junction with FR 15. Travel west on FR 15 to start point at FR 1500-476 junction.

The following roads which access the fire area are closed:

FR 1600-501 at the junction with FR 1600-502

FR 1600-485 at the junction with FR 16

FR 1600-467 at the junction of FR 16

FR 1500-987 at the junction with 1600-467

FR 1600-450 at the junction with FR 16

FR 1600-444 at the junction with FR 16

FR 1600-466 at the junction with FR 16

FR 1600-472 at the junction with FR 16 and at the junction with FR 15

FR 1500-522 at the junction with FR 15

FR 1530-637 at the junction with FR 15

FR 1530 at the junction of 1530-746 to the east junction of FR 1530 and FR 15

FR 1640-486 at the junction of FR 1640

FR 1640-096 at the junction of FR 1640

FR 1640-085 at the junction of FR 1640
