PARISH CABIN FIRE CLOSURE ORDER

MALHEUR NATIONAL FOREST

Pursuant to 36 CFR, Sec. 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited in the area and National Forest System roads described in this order within the Malheur National Forest, from August 30, 2012 and will be effect until rescinded

·1) It is prohibited for any person to be in the area described in Appendix A and the

36CFR 261.53 (e)

·2) It is prohibited to operate a motor vehicle on any forest service road within the boundary described in Appendix A

36 CFR 261.54 (a)

Pursuant to 36 CFR, Sec. 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

1) Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.

2) Any Federal, State or local law enforcement officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

3) An employee of the Forest Service when performing their official duties

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261,

Subpart A.

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. (16 U.S.C. 551 and 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571)

Area Description:

Area description:

Starting on Forest Road (FR) 16 at junction of FR 1600-924, following FR 16 west to its junction with FR 1643. At that junction, south on FR 1643 to the junction of FR 1643-318. Head west on FR 1643-318 to the junction with FR 1630. Head northwest on FR 1630 to the junction with FR 1560. At the junction , head south on FR 1560 to junction with FR 1500-516. Head southwest on FR 1500-516 to the junction with FR 15. Head southwest on FR 15 to the junction with FR 1500-150. Proceed west/northwest on FR 1500-150 to the junction with FR 1619-218. Head east on road FR 1619-218 to the junction with FR 1619-655. Head north/northwest on FR 1619-655 to the junction with FR 1619. Head north on FR 1619 to the junction with FR 16. Head west on FR 16 to the junction with FR 1620. Head north on FR 1620 to the junction with FR 3925. Head northeast on FR 3925 to the junction with FR 15. Head west/northwest on FR 15 to the junction with FR 1518. Head northeast on FR 1518 to end of the road. Proceed north up the drainage west of the section line separating section 19 and 20, T15S, R33E to the junction with Table Mountain Trail #217. Head east on trail #217 to the junction with Indian Creek Butte Trail #5000. Head east on trail #5000 to the junction with Trail #201. Head east on trail #201 to Roads End trail head on FR 1640. Head south/east on FR 1640 to High Lake Trail #385. Head northeast on trail #385 to the junction with Lake Creek Trail # 378. Head south on trail #378 to Lake Creek Trail Head on FR 1600-924; Proceed south on road 1600-924 to start point at Jct. Forest Road 16.
