Current Status

The Parish Cabin Fire is located 12 miles northeast of Seneca, OR, near the intersection of Forest Roads 15 and 16, burning on Malheur National Forest lands.

For firefighter and public safety, roads in the area will remain closed and road guards have been posted. Checkpoints will be located at the intersections of Forest Roads 15 and 1520, 1710 and 1619, and 15 and 1540 roads; as well as Forest Road 16 at Biggs Ranch, and Forest Road 16 at the east end of Logan Valley.

For public safety reasons, hunters and non essential personnel are advised to remain out of the area

Officials put a procedure in place to escort campers who were evacuated on Tuesday afternoon, back into the Parish Cabin area to identify and retrieve their belongings.

Full suppression efforts are being implemented on this incident using direct and indirect methods while maintaining firefighter and public safety as the top priority.

Plans

Continue to hold existing lines and maintain anchor point on the south.Construct new lines, while incorporating existing roads and fire breaks along the east and west flanks of the fire.

Fire Weather

The area will experience temperatures in the 80's. Winds will remain generally from the west-northwest with relative humidity in the teens during the daytime.
